  • Email marketing: do email marketing
  • Course: Host your digital courses.
  • Communities: Build your own community for your course.
  • Business Automations: automate common behaviors like sending emails after a purchase or sending a freebie after someone fills your opt in page, and many more other automations
  • Affiliate Marketing: It has a super cool marketplace where you can find products to promote, people to promote your own products, or both.
  • Evergreen webinars: You don't need a separate platform to host your evergreen webinars, isn't that great?

Context

I’ve been using Systeme.io since January 2024, and in this honest review, I’ll share my personal experience — what works, what doesn’t, and everything in between.

Best Features

Let’s start by highlighting Systeme.io’s best features:

  • Generous Free Plan: It has the most generous free plan I’ve ever seen! That means you can test the tool for free for as long as you want to make sure that it’s the right platform for you and that’s perfect for aspiring solopreneurs because you avoid the risk of spending money in the wrong platform.
  • Native A/B Testing: Systeme.io allows you to perform A/B testing directly within the platform—no additional software required. This is a standout feature, as only a handful of competitors include it as part of their offerings. If you’re unfamiliar with A/B testing, think of it as a powerful tool that helps you optimize your funnel by comparing two versions to see which performs better.
  • Evergreen Webinars: Systeme.io is truly an all-in-one marketing solution, for instance, you don’t need extra software to run evergreen webinars—how awesome is that? This feature was one of the key differentiators for me when I compared it to competitors. I wanted to avoid juggling multiple subscriptions and software to run my business, and Systeme.io lets me do everything I need from one platform. This saves me both time and money, and it’s one of the main reasons I chose it over others.
  • Blogs and Funnels: By using the platform you can create funnels and blogs without any coding skills. The editor to build such websites and funnels is much more intuitive compared to its competitors. It also allows you to manage your website's SEO directly, without the need for additional plugins—looking at you, WordPress!
  • Courses and Communities: You can store your videos for your course directly on the platform, if you're on the paid plan, or you can host them on YouTube and use that link. And what's a course without a community? You can build your course community right there too, without needing additional tools. To me, it really feels like they've thought of everything—everything you need to create and manage your digital products, all in one place.
  • Free Certification Program: One of the biggest concerns for aspiring solopreneurs is feeling overwhelmed by the tech required to build their dream business, especially if they're not tech-savvy or don't have countless hours to learn the tools they need. Fortunately, Systeme.io offers a free certification program to help you become fully trained on their platform. While the program isn't 100% up-to-date, it provides a solid foundation in just a few hours, allowing you to quickly get up to speed and start using the platform with confidence.
  • Easy To Install Templates: When creating a new funnel or blog on the platform, you’ll have access to a wide range of templates to choose from. If none of the available options meet your needs, you can easily purchase additional templates from third-party providers. Installing them is as simple as making ONE SINGLE CLICK.

What is a marketing funnel?

If you are new to the world of selling digital products, you may have no idea of what a marketing funnel is.

A funnel is basically the journey your customer goes through since the moment they get to know of your existance until they buy something from you. It’s often visualized as a funnel shape because the number of prospects decreases at each stage.

A funnel typically works by guiding potential customers through a series of steps designed to build trust and encourage conversions.

STEP 1

Awareness

Attracting people to your business through ads, social media, or content.

STEP 2

Interest

Engaging prospects with valuable information or offers, like free guides or webinars.

STEP 3

Decision

Encouraging them to consider your product or service as a solution to their problem.

STEP 4

Action

Converting them into customers through a purchase or sign-up.

Now that can be a bit abstract, so let's make it more concrete.

Step 1: Offer a Freebie

Start by providing a free resource, like an ebook, guide, or discount, in exchange for their email and name. This creates an initial connection with someone who will be interested in a free version of your offer.

Once we’ve collected someone’s name and email, we classify them as a Lead. A lead is essentially a person who has expressed interest in your product or service and might eventually become a customer. This step marks the beginning of building a relationship and guiding them through your sales funnel.

Step 2: Nurture the Relationship

Follow up with value-packed content—tips, tutorials, or insights—to build trust and showcase your expertise.

Step 3: Present Your Offer

Once trust is established, introduce your product or service as the solution to their problem.

Step 4: Follow Up (If Needed)

If they purchase, fantastic! If not, continue to engage them with emails offering value, addressing objections, or sharing success stories.

Remember, just because someone doesn’t buy immediately doesn’t mean they never will—consistent, thoughtful engagement can turn leads into customers over time.

What Types of Funnels can you create with Systeme.io?

The sky is the limit when it comes to all the different types of funnels you can create with Systeme.io, here are a few examples of the funnel types I have personally created using this platform:

Lead Magnet Funnel

You create an opt-in page where potential clients can download a valuable free resource (also known as a lead magnet). This could be a checklist, infographic, short ebook, training video, or any other piece of content that addresses a specific pain point or interest of your target audience. The goal is to provide immediate value while collecting their contact information for future follow-up.

Quiz Funnel

Engage your audience by having them answer a quiz and requiring them to provide their name and email to receive personalized results.

This strategy works exceptionally well because quizzes are fun and interactive, and they also offer valuable insights into your audience’s preferences, needs, or challenges.

Evergreen Webinar Funnel

This funnel allows your leads to access a recorded webinar at any time. After signing up, they can watch a 60-90 minute session where you provide valuable content, share your expertise, and ultimately pitch your offer. The beauty of this funnel is its automation—once the webinar is set up, it can run continuously, allowing you to attract and nurture leads without being present live.

Email Challenge Funnel

This funnel invites your leads to participate in a challenge that spans several days, often ranging from 5 to 30 days. Each day, your subscribers receive an email with a new tip, lesson, or actionable step to take. The goal is to engage your audience consistently, provide value, and build a relationship with them over the course of the challenge. It’s a great way to nurture leads, create a sense of urgency, and guide them toward taking action, whether that's purchasing a product, signing up for a service, or joining a program.

The things that could be improved...

Although I love Systeme.io, it’s not perfect.

⚠️ Spoiler Alert: The perfect platform does not exist.

So now let's review the aspects that I wish they'd improve in the future:

  • Poor Web Performance: If you analyze your funnel or website performance using tools like Google Lighthouse, you'll see that it's close to impossible to reach high Performance scores if your website is built with Systeme.io. I really hope they improve it soon!
  • Basic Analytics: The platform offers analytics but they’re very limited in comparison to Google Analytics and other platforms. They’re helpful but I would personally prefer to have more metrics available.
  • Simple community features: The platform includes a built-in community feature, though it’s quite basic compared to what other tools offer. However, it’s still a decent starting point for fostering engagement and interaction, especially if you’re just beginning to build your audience. It provides the essentials without overwhelming you with complexity.
  • Limited forms functionality: If I wanted to create an opt-in form with a dropdown menu for users to select their preferred language, unfortunately, the platform doesn't currently support dropdown fields in forms. This limitation can make it challenging to offer tailored options directly within the form.
  • Blog feature needs improvement: So far I've mainly built funnels and websites with Systeme.io, however, as I write this blog article, I realize that the writing experience could be smoother. After using other blogging tools like Wordpress, I realize that writing this blog took way longer than expected.
  • Limited Integrations: Since the platform is designed as an all-in-one marketing solution, it offers limited direct integrations with other tools. However, this is easily addressed using Zapier, which bridges the gap for most integration needs. Personally, I haven’t found the need for additional integrations yet, but this might become a consideration as your business grows and your tech stack becomes more sophisticated.

Summary

Overall, I’m highly satisfied with Systeme.io. The platform offers an incredibly generous free plan, allowing you to thoroughly explore its features and determine if it aligns with your needs before committing to a paid plan.

If I were to rate my experience with this tool, here’s how I’d score it:

As a solopreneur, it has everything I need to sell digital courses online and I was able to test it for free, fall in love with the platform and I currently pay the yearly webinar subscription. If you’re wondering how it compares with other tools, this table is perfect for you:

The decision

While there is no perfect platform to start selling digital products, I am happy with my choice of Systeme.io.

All the available platforms have pros and cons, the trick is to choose the one that is best for your use case. If you're doubting whether Systeme.io is the right tool for you, you're very lucky because you can test it with the free plan to see if you enjoy working with it, if it allows you to easily achieve what you’re trying to do and how you feel using the platform.
